Coping With Caregiver Stress
Many caregivers are reluctantly thrust into their role without preparation because the need for care usually comes with little warning. Caregivers end up operating in a "crisis" mode: arranging medical care and living arrangements, scheduling care time, providing meals and household chores and so forth. In the midst of the stress they rarely take time to find out what resources are available to help them.

Center For Disease Control Stats Show That Assistance With ADLs Is A Large Need
A study by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control shows that many aging Americans need help with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). The survey took into account numbers from 1992-2006, and showed that 23 percent of Americans 65 and older who live at home need help with walking. Eleven percent of the elderly population who lived at home needed help getting out of bed or chairs. A Persoanl Assistance Service (PAS) like Caring Senior Service, provides assistance with ADLs in the home. Click here and scroll to link No. 6 for CDC tables. | |
